Did you know in the State of California it is the seller's responsibility to have a vehicle smogged prior to selling the vehicle?
From CA DMV's website:
Q: "If I sell my car, do I have to get it inspected first?"

Our advice to you: DO NOT BUY A VEHICLE WITHOUT A SMOG CERTIFICATE! You may think you are getting a "good deal" but if the vehicle you just purchased fails the smog inspection for any reason it can end up costing you hundreds, possibly thousands of dollars to have the repairs completed.
